Dont have a baby!!!!
The anticipation of a child is a very serious matter in Marriage. The anticipation of one can easily manifest new conflicts or just new situations that prior to the child you would have never had. Many researchers have done work on this including (Katariina, Kaisa , Terhi , Erja , and Jarik , 2006). Through their research they discovered fascinating information. Ones that can better explain life and our relationships with our significant other.
Through the findings of, (Katariina, Kaisa , Terhi , Erja , and Jarik , 2006) they figured out that there is an effect in their marital satisfaction and depressive symptoms when anticipating a child. Their findings was that they usually go down when a pretty satisfied couple is anticipating a child being that its almost seen as a third party coming in and intruding onto a happy relationship. They also came to the conclusion that if you weren’t a happy couple, an anticipation of a child actually helps because they are given a common subject or situation to deal with.
(Hoffman and Levant, 1985) also gave very good findings on children anticipation. One difference then (Katariina, Kaisa , Terhi , Erja , and Jarik , 2006) research was that they worked with an control group. There focus was more of how different are these two types of marriage. What they found out was that there was really no big difference with the exception of marital adjustment. They found that non-child anticipating couples had a better marital adjustment.
These two articles relate with how they went about researching and the findings. Both were done through surveys but then (Katariina, Kaisa , Terhi , Erja , and Jarik , 2006) was more of a longitudinal study. Their findings were similar in the effects that child anticipation showed that most happy couples tend to have a drop in marital satisfaction, and when you look at the comparative article and find out that when anticipating for a baby usually makes it a lot more difficult to have a good adjustment in marital relationships, well then it makes sense why their marital satisfaction goes down. I concluded through the results of both test that not being able to have a good marital adjustment, as a parent will affect your marital relationship. So basically having a baby is a horrible idea as a loving couple.
Twitter's affect on the spread of news
Twitter has been a fast growing popular social network that has been taking the world by storm. Twitter has been growing quickly because it enables the users to brainstorm ideas and it enables news to be spread quicker from the source itself. This aspect of twitter makes it different then some of the other social networks like Facebook and Myspace, which really do not incorporate news as a main component.
Twitter has managed to broadcast itself in a way that some people say consider the future of news broadcasting. The biggest thing right now that brings attention to the people is the feature Trending Topic that appears in the right hand corner. Trending Topics has really captivated the public. It simply leaves popular topics to link to and people usually click on them because of its convenience and the curiosity of why is it so trendy at the moment.
The news that is being broadcasted on Trending Topics ranges from everything to politics, music, and movies. The news that is given to you are not just from the media, but the users of Twitter. This makes news very interactive. For example, if a movie is featured in Trending Topics, you will see everyone’s feedback on it. People also put up links about the movie and trailers. This gives the feeling of a community and a source where people can exchange information.
This allows the news to become more popular and entertaining. Most people do not like sitting down listening to the news for an hour. Twitter eliminates any commercials and gets directly to the point. It chooses the most interesting news that you can hear about in real time. Twitter makes this available to click on directly. Real time is what makes Trending Topics so successful. Since we are living in real time, Twitter keeps up with the people. It is a way to intrigue people into finding out more.
Twitter’s availability has made it marketable. This aspect of real time has been amazing for twitter, to the point that MTV is making a partnership with Twitter. Alexa Chung has a show called, “Its on with Alexa Chung” where you can tweet while the show is going on and it is a great way to keep interaction with the audiences at home. This has been a huge step in Twitter’s success.
Another amazing example would be best explained with Iran. Iran has been a hot topic and twitter has been covering it. It has been a Trending Topic for a while. In one article that I read in BNET Media Insights, Journalist David Weir explains how all of a sudden during election time in Iran, the American news coverage became very weak as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad defeated Mir Hossein Mousavi. However, Twitter is in real time and the Iranians were able to comment on the news as it was happening. They were able to discuss information that our media was unavailable to broadcast on. People all over Iran were explaining the protest and the up rise. People even wrote, “The Revolution will be twittered.”
This type of news is one that has not been seen before. It is live news and is delivered from the people to the people. It provides news and explanations through conversations as opposed to stories and news reports. What makes it even more attractive is that there is no government filtering. This is as raw as it gets. The journalist, David Weir, went on to say,
“Over more than four decades of working as a journalist, I have never witnessed any live coverage more riveting than what is being provided via Twitter. The roughest and rawest first draft of history is being texted by the masses. By comparison, all other forms of media seem, well, tired.”
What adds on to his articles is that it’s named, “ Twitter Users Put CNN to Shame on Iran Riot Coverage.”
As with everything in life, nothing is perfect and Twitter is no exception. Lately there has been way too many spam users and some Trending Topics are not very important at all. One blog really bashes the whole idea of Trending Topic but begins with how it was a great idea and worked so well until people and spam users destroyed its credentials. On TechCrunch, Robin Wauters spoke about how Trending Topics is becoming a chain letter and really childish and continued to mention how sad it is because Trending Topics can be a powerful way to get popular news around.
After reading this article, I did look into Twitter and noticed a lot of what he was referring to. However, I still feel that Trending Topics is very powerful and influential. I, for example, had no idea who was Sotomayor until I saw Trending Topic and clicked on it. Through that click I saw millions of comments and links to send me to newspaper articles and other websites. I got to read what the public had to say from all different point of views. Some people called her amazing and others said she was racist, but at the end of the day I felt as if I was given every angle possible to make my own decision of what I thought of her and her actions.
Twitter is the new way for news information to be broadcasted for both adults and young adults for the 21st century. I feel that with time the bugs and other problems with Twitter will be fixed. This will remain to be one of the strongest social networks available. Twitter has something special about it and soon enough everybody will notice and begin to capitalize on this revolutionary tool.

We Must Recognize
Have you ever recognized your life from up above the sky, looking down on the blind, noticing that life is an up and down ride.
Realizing that we are molded from hard times and ignorant through good.
and to be the best we must understand when we are being misunderstood.
They may say we are fools but as we walk steady through the shaky road we will be rewarded by something greater then gold.
Maybe love, Sucseess, or a deeper happiness. watever it is, it will be to our satisfaction.

Cocky????Change?????
Chapter 1 ------- Cocky????? Change??????
It has been brought to my attention that I am cocky and to be honest I don’t know if she was right or wrong. Being Cocky is something I never wanted to be associated with but for some reason I think I have become just that, or maybe im just confident. I’ve been running this question through my head all night and morning. Which one is it? Cocky or confident and were is the line drawn and how would I know which one I am. Could it be that too much confidence is seen as cocky in people eyes, because I for one believe cockiness’ is associated with a mixture of arrogance and confidence and I know for one, that I am not arrogant. So why would I be considered cocky. Well I do talk a lot of shit on the courts but that’s just the way I play ball. I’ve always been an emotional player who plays with more heart then anyone on the court. I also understand that to keep myself in the game playing well I must have a high moral so I constantly compliment myself. For example, “ Damn, whos that Spanish nicca shooting the lights off this bitch” lol. That’s is deff. One of my lines. Well looking back at the way I play ball I can understand why a girl would think im cocky. Maybe I should play differently when girls are around. Matter of fact maybe not. I am deff not taking away from my fun, I luv my shit talking on court and its deff. Entertainment.
Maybe I should stop flexing, I know im always flexing and im constantly being told that but its hard for me not to appreciate the hard work ive put in the gym. The countless hours and numerous times I pushed myself off the bed and told myself its all up to you Gilbert. DAMN!!!!!!!!! While Writing this I have discovered something about me. I think im Cocky. Well Fuck it. I still feel that im a different type of cocky, Im one that has been proud of my achievements because I wasn’t given anything easy. Everything im good at wasn’t naturally given like most people. Its been my drive and determination that has allowed me to feel this happiness about myself and I deff rather be cocky then depressed. So this is Cocky Gil of 09…….Every semester I deff do transform into something better and more exciting and for those who feel that people never change, hey stupid, they do. They just need to want it for themselves and you cant force it on them. So I guess the Qoute of the day is………
Change cannot be force upon a person by another, they must first want it themselves and then they will change for the better or maybe the worse, we choose our own faith remember that.
